Meet our Founder

Hello I am Taheatul Jannat, Founder and President at Nondita Surokkha . I am a student, entrepreneur, social activist and a feminist.

I always wanted to do something positive that would benefit the society in the long run. So I have started my organisation Nondita Surokkha for women and child safety and gender equality & also established a full free for the neglected children of sweeper community.

Some issues that I have focused on are menstrual hygiene, safe-unsafe touch, quality education, and gender equality.

My mission is to make this society this much better where everyone will feel safe physically and mentally; especially the women,

every woman will be aware about their menstrual hygiene, and people will accept that menstrual isn’t a taboo at all

To fulfill my mission, my organisation have supplied “Period Safety Bank” in 30 schools, restaurants and public toilets of Faridpur, arranged workshops and seminars to raise awareness among 30,000 women , and started an online service to mitigate woman harassment and bullying.

Now I am working as coordinator in the Legal Empowerment & Gender Diversity project funded by the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST). In 2021, I received the ‘Inspiring Woman Volunteer Award’ from the United Nations with respect for my team work & as a first Bangladeshi woman I received the ‘Forces of Nature Award 2021’ by Ripple Effect Images among the 15 countries. One of my dream that one day all women can lead a better life and enjoy all of their god-given right.
